Bob Miglarese – Principal and Senior Consultant
Bob Miglarese started MIG & Associates with the goal of bringing cost effective solutions to clients. Regarded by many in the business as an expert strategic operations transformation leader and “fixer,” Bob has achieved multimillion dollar successes in service delivery excellence, change leadership, cost/ productivity improvements, and team effectiveness for large and small organizations with national and regional multi-site operations.
Over the past 30 years, Bob has held senior leadership positions with Fortune 50 national, and regional health systems, managed care insurers, and care management organizations. His diverse background within the payer, provider, and care management sectors has enabled Bob to gain insight into the integrated nature of complex business functions.
In 2012, Bob was recognized with a “Firestarter” award by Carolinas Healthcare System, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the nation. Given to the top 1% in the organization who exemplify meaningful change, this award acknowledged Bob’s success in reengineering provider credentialing and enrollment operations to benchmark performance and team engagement levels, yielding a $9 million gain to the provider billing revenue cycle.
Bob started Wake Business Services in 2004, working primarily with small businesses and non-profits in the areas of operations strategy and improvement, budget management, organizational planning and staff development. He collaborated closely with physician, clinical research, and technology leaders at the Duke University Health System to fix a $70 million backlog in clinical research grant funding allocation, while helping to bring a new clinical research patient registry online.
He led the national health coaching operations for Health Dialog, a care /wellness management and medical analytics company, where he increased the productivity, quality, and client satisfaction of the service delivery platform and scaled the operations for more than a 60% growth in new and existing client business.
Bob has also held key leadership roles with Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in both large and small markets. At BCBS in Vermont, he was part of the leadership team recruited to successfully save the Plan from insolvency. As head of Commercial Operations for BCBS North Carolina, he successfully guided a division of over 1,000 employees through major organizational change, transforming the company’s business operations, productivity, service delivery and workplace culture into one of the top performing health plans in the nation. Bob also led CIGNA’s Regional North and South Carolina operations to benchmark performance levels in what was then CIGNA’s National Service Organization.
Bob holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Framingham State College and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
